Home to Cornell University and Ithaca College on the hillsides at the southern end of Cayuga Lake, the longest of the Fingerlakes, in central New York, is the extraordinary community of Ithaca. The area exemplifies a small-town atmosphere, while showcasing the qualities of a larger metropolitan city.

The Fingerlakes Region is made up of 14 counties that occupy 9,000 square miles of the state. Tomnpkins County measures 476 square miles.

Spectacular falls, gorges and scenic beauty are abundant here. For recreation start your day at any one of the breathtaking State Parks or wander through a cavernous gorge formed by glaciers during the ice age. Or perhaps you'd rather sail the day away on Cayuga Lake.

You'll feel welcome and comfortably at home as you drive to our many locally-owned vineyards that characterize the FingerLakes region. Award-winning vineyards ring Cayuga Lake with their pastoral beauty, tempting aromas, sweet fruits and gifts, and year-round tasting and harvesting events.

All year long, Ithaca and nearby communities host festivals, bringing parks and city blocks alive with music, artwork, culinary delights and family activities.

Head downtown to The Commons, our own brand of pedestrian shopping and dining to visit one-of-a-kind shops, art galleries, and renowned restaurants that are only found here.

Abundant museums, such as The Museum of the Earth, the Johnson Museum and the Science Museum for all ages offer many reasons to explore the area.

Of course Cornell University, Ithaca College, TC3 and a number of local organizations host lectures and workshops open to the public to allow your interests to become cultured passions.  Concerts, plays and movies abound on the many stages and screens found downtown, around the area and on campus.

Life in Ithaca is richly textured. Welcome to our community. I'll be happy to help you make this your new home!
